Alice and the Three Bears
1924 · Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio · Dir. Walt Disney
The Three Bears are busy cooking when Baby Bear realises his recipe requires hops. Naturally his first inclination is to go find some frogs to provide for him his hops, so he runs off and pursues a frog at the local pond. In the meantime Alice and her cat stumble upon the Three Bears' house and sneak inside (Ma and Pa Bear are nowhere to be seen).

Why this status applies
This short film is part of the 'Alice Comedies' series produced by Walt Disney. It was originally released on December 1, 1924. Under US copyright law, all works published or registered before January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain regardless of whether they were renewed.
Because the film was released in 1924, its maximum 75-year term (under the 1976 Act) or 95-year term (under the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act) expired no later than the end of 1999. It is now part of the public domain in the United States, along with the other early silent Alice Comedies.
