Attack in the Pacific

Attack in the Pacific (1944) is a documentary film produced by the United States government during World War II. Specifically, it was produced by the Office of War Information (OWI) in collaboration with the U.S. Navy. Under Section 105 of the Copyright Act of 1976 (and predecessor statutes), works prepared by an officer or employee of the United States Government as part of that person's official duties are not eligible for US copyright protection. Because this film is a work of the federal government, it entered the public domain immediately upon creation. This applies to its use within the United States regardless of any commercial distribution it may have received. The film is widely available in the National Archives and via various public domain repositories like the Internet Archive and the Prelinger Archives without restriction.
