A search of the Stanford Copyright Renewal Database and the Library of Congress Catalog of Copyright Entries (CCE) confirms that the copyright was successfully renewed on 5Aug60 with renewal number R261184. The renewal was filed by 20th Century-Fox Film Corp., the successor in interest to Fox Film Corp. Because the renewal was filed correctly within the statutory window, the copyright was extended for a second term. Under the 1976 Copyright Act and subsequent extensions (specifically the 1998 Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act), films from this era that were under a valid renewal term were granted a total of 95 years of protection from the date of publication. Consequently, this film will not enter the public domain in the United States until January 1, 2028.
