Chop Suey & Co.

Chop Suey & Co. is a silent short film directed by Hal Roach and starring Harold Lloyd, Bebe Daniels, and "Snub" Pollard. It was produced by the Rolin Film Company and released through Pathe Exchange on April 13, 1919. Under current US copyright law, the status of films released during this era is governed by the 1976 Copyright Act as amended by the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998. All works published or registered for copyright in the United States prior to January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain regardless of whether they were originally renewed or if the author is still living. Specifically, once the 95-year term for works-for-hire published before 1978 expires, they become public property. As this film was published in 1919, it achieved public domain status in the US no later than January 1, 1995. It is currently available on various archival platforms and in public domain collections of Harold Lloyd's early 'Lonesome Luke' and 'Glasses Character' shorts without restriction.
