Why this status applies

Under the current United States copyright law, all works published before January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain. This film was released in September 1926 by Rayart Pictures and stars Helen Holmes and Henry Victor. Following the 1998 Copyright Term Extension Act, the maximum term of copyright for works published with notice was 95 years from the date of publication. Consequently, works from 1926 entered the public domain on January 1, 2022. There is no need to search for renewal records or notice compliance as the expiration is automatic based on the publication date being older than the 95-year threshold.
