Cult of the Damned

Released originally as 'Angel, Angel, Down We Go' (1969) before being retitled 'Cult of the Damned' for later distribution, this film falls within the mandatory renewal era transition. Under the Copyright Act of 1909, works from 1969 were initially required to be renewed in their 28th year. However, the Copyright Renewal Act of 1992 automatically renewed all works published between 1964 and 1977. Therefore, no manual renewal record in the CCE or Stanford database is required to maintain protection. The film was produced by Sam Katzman for American International Pictures (AIP) and includes a valid copyright notice on its original release prints. A formal registration was filed with the US Copyright Office on August 13, 1969, under the title 'Angel, Angel, Down We Go' with registration number LP37227. Because the 1992 Act granted automatic renewal to all 1969 works, the copyright will not expire until 95 years after the publication date, which will be the end of 2064.
