Curse of the Stone Hand

Curse of the Stone Hand is a US-produced anthology film created by producer Jerry Warren, who combined footage from two Chilean films (La Casa del Fines and La Dama de la Muerte) with new American scenes. While the film was distributed in 1964 and 1965, it falls into the 1964–1977 automatic renewal window; however, research indicates the film was never formally registered with the U.S. Copyright Office at the time of its release, nor did it carry a valid copyright notice complying with the requirements of the 1909 Copyright Act as amended. The film has been widely circulated in the public domain for decades, appearing on numerous 'budget' DVD collections from labels like Alpha Video and Mill Creek, which specialize in public domain content. It is also hosted on the Internet Archive without takedown notices. Unlike major studio films of this era, independent 'B-movies' like those from Jerry Warren's ADP Productions frequently entered the public domain immediately upon publication due to a failure to include the mandatory copyright notice (symbol, year, and name) on the film prints.
