The film 'Lady Godiva' (also known as 'Lady Godiva of Coventry') was released on October 21, 1911, by the Vitagraph Company of America. Under US copyright law, all works published before January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain regardless of whether they were originally registered or if renewals were filed. As a 1911 production, the maximum possible term of copyright (including the original 28-year term and a 28-year renewal under the 1909 Act, or subsequent extensions) has long since expired. The film is definitively in the public domain in the United States.
