Pool Sharks

Pool Sharks (1915), also known as 'The Pool Shark,' is a US motion picture starring W.C. Fields in his film debut. It was produced by the Gaumont Film Company and released in the United States by the Mutual Film Corporation on September 19, 1915. Under US copyright law, all works published or registered before January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain regardless of renewal status or authorship. Because this film was released in 1915, its statutory copyright term has expired. It entered the public domain 75 years after publication (under the 1976 Act) or 95 years after publication (under the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act), both of which have now lapsed. The film is widely available in the public domain and is preserved in various archives, including the Library of Congress and the Museum of Modern Art. It is frequently included in public domain collections of silent comedies and W.C. Fields retrospectives.
