Under this Act, works registered between 1964 and 1977 received automatic renewal, but works from 1950–1963 required a manual renewal filing in their 28th year. A search of the Stanford Copyright Renewal Database and the USCO records confirms that 'The Tiger King' was renewed on December 30, 1988, by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corp. with renewal number RE0000410065. As a 'work made for hire' published in 1960 with a valid renewal, the copyright remains protected until 95 years after publication, expiring on December 31, 2055.
