The film 'The War of the Submarines' (often referred to without the final 's' in contemporary listings) was released in the United States on January 30, 1914. It was produced by Thomas H. Ince under the Kay-Bee brand and distributed by Mutual Film Corporation. Under US copyright law, all works published before January 1, 1928, have entered the public domain regardless of whether they were registered or renewed. Since this film was released in 1914, its statutory copyright term expired long ago. It is currently in the public domain in the United States due to age.
