The Wild Angels was released in 1966 by American International Pictures. Unlike films from the 1928–1963 era, no affirmative renewal filing was required in the 28th year to prevent the work from falling into the public domain. The film remains under active commercial exploitation and is currently distributed by Orion Pictures (via MGM), with recent high-definition restorations and licensing to boutique labels like Kino Lorber, which is a strong indicator of a valid, maintained copyright chain. There is no evidence of a defective copyright notice that would have invalidated the copyright under the pre-1989 notice requirements.
