Why this status applies
The film 'Woman in Hiding', directed by Michael Gordon, was released in early 1950. As a US production from the 1928–1963 era, it required a timely copyright renewal in its 28th year to maintain protection. Research confirms that Universal Pictures (under Universal Pictures Co., Inc.) successfully renewed the copyright for this production.
The original registration was filed on January 3, 1950, under registration number LP2806. The renewal was filed on September 6, 1977, under renewal number R671167. Because the renewal was filed within the statutory window (the 28th year of the original term), the film's copyright was extended and it remains under protection in the United States until 95 years after its publication (December 31, 2045).
